Dream Run Ends for Mountaineers in Big East Final

The most memorable run in recent Big East tournament history ran out of gas Saturday night in the Big East championship against Syracuse. West Virginia, which has become the darling of the college basketball world won three games in three nights while being the underdog in two of them and having more travel mishaps than John Candy in that one movie.
Perhaps the Mountaineers have arrived on the national scene, but with the Big East title soo close, something that is a once in a decade oppurtunity, Mike Gansey and Kevin Pittsnoggle were absolute non-factors for much of the game.
The three-point shooting just was not there, and that is scary because they creeped to within 5 late in the game, while hitting just about nothing.

Its selection sunday and finally West Virginia fans will have a reason to watch. I am hoping for a seed in the Cleveland bracket or Indianapolis, I really need to see this team competiting in the NCAA's.
Either way, their run through the Big East may have been the four best days for any Mountaineer fan in a long time. I recorded everything, the scrap book is made, newspaper clippings are cut, its just one of those runs you do not forgot.
