The Good, the Bad and the GMAC Bowl
Ranking the Bowls 27-32
-T Mobile,Alabama

These rankings have nothing to do with what is on the line in the game or the prestige of the bowl. Whether a BCS title is on the line or some bar bet, all these games are based on the watchability factor, the network, the potential announcers and sideline reporters, the sponsor and what else is going on at the time.

The list will update as the week goes on leading up to Thursdays kickoff
And as the games get better, Art Shell gets happier

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
December 21
Florida Atlantic vs Memphis

This bowl has issues. How in the name of Katrina can the "city" of New Orleans land three bowl games this year and more ideal locations like, Siberia for instance, have no bowl games.
Thank god ESPN bumped this game to the 21st so bowl season does not get off to a rougher start than John Beilein in Michigan.
Fun fact here is that the Florida Atlantic coach has one more national title than Rich Rodriguez will ever win. Howard Schnellenberger will be the focus of this broadcast along with that Memphis player who got shot to death on campus.
If we're lucky Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman, & Rob Stone will guide us through this slopfest although the over/under is slated at 67.5 so we might see some scoring.
Heavy drinking is order to get through this telecast and cause its toosh's birthday.

New Mexico Bowl
December 22
Albuquerque, New Mexico
New Mexico vs Nevada
What would happen to this bowl game if New Mexico failed to win six games some year
Right smack dab in a solid triple header of bowl games on this Saturday, the only thing that kept the Lobos and WolfPack out of last place on my list is the special place that New Mexico has in my heart from my summer roadtrip.
(I am in the back of the Pontiac sans shoes)
Ryan- "CJ wake up, Nick put your shoes on"

Josh- "Guys we're out of gas and I don't see any lights anywhere"

(4am local mountain time)

Other than that I don't have too much to say about this bowl game except that Las Vegas is calling for 60 points and I am calling for close to that amount in beers to make this three hour debacle enjoyable. Oh yeah and for some reason I can just envision Stacey Dales-Shuman-Long-O'hara on the sidelines for this one.

Motor City Bowl
December 26
Detroit, Michigan
Purdue vs Central Michigan

No time to return Aunt Rose's christmas gifts yet, we have some football to play. For the very, very few of you who missed this regular season classic, 45-22 Purdue or so I'm told, we can relive it all over again without involving ESPN Classic. Vegas calls for 72 points and I call for 70 of those to be on Purdue's side of the scoreboard.

Emerald Bowl
San Francisco California
December 28
Oregon St. vs Maryland
One of the more underrated drinking days of the year, the Friday before New Years, features these BCS schools in what should be called, Lose This Game and Get Fired Bowl.

The last two coaches to lose, Karl Dorrell of UCLA and Chan Gailey of GTech both were canned this offseason as brought to our attention by Stewart Mandel.

GMAC Bowl
Mobile, Alabama
Tulsa vs Bowling Green
I believe it was George Strait who once asked 'tell me something bad about Tulsa."
Well I'll start with this game
What better way to wrap up the first round of the NFL playoffs than with a night cap of a game that will ultimately end up being a 3 hour preview for the next days ALLSTATE BCS National Championship game.

But Mobile and the dozens and dozens of fans tuned it at home are in for an offensive shootout and Vegas expects the biggest shootout of the bowling season with a total set at 75.5. So if this game goes accordingly it might not end til the 2nd quarter of the BCS championship game.

I am sure there is some clever play on words with Bowling Green and Bowl Season but I cant't think of one right now.

AUTOZONE Liberty Bowl
Memphis, Tennessee
December 29
Mississippi St. vs Central Florida

Barry Sanders has not watched a football game in probably close to five years but I guarantee he will have a set of eyes on this one. The NCAA's leading rusher Kevin Smith is 181 yards away from breaking his NCAA single season record, and that race will be much much bigger than the game itself.

SEC should be coach of the year Sly Croom wil give it hell trying to stop him from breaking that record in the middle game of a Saturday bowl tripleheader.

Hopefully we can have Barry Sanders cam during the game so we can watch him, watch the game much like ESPN did with Erik Dickerson when Jamal Lewis was threatening his record in Week 17 on MNF against the stillers.
(Jaymal never got it)
