Week Two College Football Rankings
1) USC
Nothing changes, up here, they are 10+ point favorites against Ohio State so do not expect much to change either
2) Missouri
3)LSU
4) Alabama
Had a bit of a let down game against Tulane, as called here, looked very sluggish, Saban needs to have his team ready to play every week, not only agaisnt ranked teams
5) Oklahoma
Allowed Cincy to put points up but the game was never in doubt, they covered a high spread
6) Georgia
Moves up a spot with a dismantling of Dan Lefeavour (sp?), BIG BIG test coming up at the real USC, only seven point favorites on the road in a made for TV upset
7) Florida
In a game where they had everything to lose but not much to gain, the Gators hold Miami to three points
8) Auburn
Slowly going about their business as one of the best teams in the country but only fourth best in their own conference
9) Oregon
10) ECU
They will fall apart down the stretch as they start looking down the road, the schedule from here on out is not as easy as you would think for a Conference USA team
11) Texas
12) Ohio State
Looked embarassingly sluggish in barely squeeking by an Ohio team as 33.5 point favorites. The game was in question until the end and if it werent for 4, yes 4, bobcat interceptions, Ohio State loses that game
13) Wisconsin
Put away an upstart Marshall team easily after falling behind 14-0
14)Oklahoma State
The Big 12 is the second best conference in the country. After the SEC and Big 12 there is a large dropoff, for the first time in conference history, all 12 teams won and for once the Cowboys are going to have something to say about the conference title
15)Arizona State
Stanford came in hot and left like many expected, badly beaten
16)Kansas
17) Texas Tech
The Big 12 is very well represented in the top 20
18) Penn State
Suspensions or no suspensions, the schedule is once again taylor made for success while looking somewhat legit
19)Wake Forest
Sluggish win against Ole Miss at home, needed a last second field goal
20) Fresno State
How in the hell did they get Wisconsin to come to the Valley, I will never know, a big showdown looms this week, late night 10:30 ESPN2
21)USF
Needed overtime to dispatch UCF, the Big East is putting together the single worst season in major conference history
22)UCLA
23)BYU
24) Arizona
25) California
26) Colorado
27) Kentucky
28)Nebraska
Schedule maker gets an A+ here, easy schedule early with alot of home games, building confidence getting ready for a showdown with Mizzou in a few weeks
29) Vanderbilt
Huge Thursday night win, for the second week in a row as an underdog, first time they beat a ranked school in nearly a century
30) Illinois
31) Utah
32) Rice
33) Northwestern
34) Tulsa
35) Georgia Tech
The triple option is getting it down, even on the road at Chestnut Hill, the weak ACC is up for grabs this year and Paul Johnson has a good of a shot as anyone
36) Ole Miss
Not a bad loss, Houston Nutt's team will find its way out of the SEC cellar this year somehow
37) Tennessee
Waiting List
Clemson, UCONN, UNC, Boise State, Florida State, TCU
Dropped Out
WVU, Buffalo, Temple, Central Michigan, Boston College, Stanford, South Carolina, LA Tech, Wyoming
