Poll

1) USC
They received all of my first place votes (one) and they should be 1a and 1b. They have really distanced themselves from the pack until the inevitable midseason meltdown game against, oh lets say washington state

2)Missouri
The Big 12 is my conference of the year this year

3) LSU
Barn burner in Auburn this week, the winner of that, takes charge of the SEC

4) Oklahoma
They go across the country to hand Ty Willingham his pink slip

5) Alabama

6) Georgia
Nothing wrong with an ugly win in the SEC, going on the road at South Carolina was impressive

7) Florida
Tough test in Knoxville this week, and yes that is four SEC teams in the top 7, but just watch the Big XII

8) Oregon
In the year of the non-conference game, Oregon once again goes on the road to a Big Ten opponents house and wins a game, albeit in overtime

9)Wisconsin
Carrying the banner for the Big Ten this year, nobody wants to go to Fresno State but they did and they won, it was ugly, but they escaped

10) USF
A big jump for USF, that Kansas team in my opinion was as legit as they come and out of the Big XII and USF wins a gutsy gutsy game down in Tampa

11) Texas Tech
They are destined to have a Mike Leech collapse in November, but for now, they really look like a contender

12) Penn State
The schedule has featued two BCS conference teams on it, but they are hardly worthy, Oregon State and Syracuse, they get Temple next at home, but Penn State really looks for real this year

13) BYU
BCS crashers indeed, hanging 59 on UCLA and shutting them out, thats the same UCLA team that beat Tennessee, college football is a lot better when teams like BYU are having good seasons

14) Texas
15) Oklahoma State

16) East Carolina
They fall six spots this week, that was an ugly ugly win against Tulane but it does speak volumes about the group that they were able to handle adversity

17) Auburn
3-2
They beat Mississippi State 3-2
Freaking Sly Croom and you can only beat them 3-2 in the UGLIEST game you will see
I am all for defense and grind em out games, but wow
You really have to hand it to Auburn for the way they performed, but then again they would probably just fumble it back

18) Wake Forest
19) Kansas
20) Colorado
21) Fresno State
22) Kentucky
23) Nebraska
24) Vanderbilt
25) Illinois
26) Utah
27) Northwestern
28) Tennessee
29) Ole Miss
30) Ohio State
31) Arizona State
32) UNC
33) Tulsa

Five teams drop out this week to make it a top 33

Dropouts
UCLA
Arizona
California
Georgia Tech
Rice
