Sto-Rox Captures First WPIAL girls Title
Sto-Rox 51
Seton-LaSalle 34
The athletic Lady Vikes were too match for an undersized all white Seton LaSalle team. When it comes down to Socioeconomic mismatches like this game was, always take the team from the Rox. Kerry was cold shooting early but fini
shed with 12 points and even more impressive led the team with 9 rebounds.

Class A
1 For The Third Thumb, Trojanettes Make it 15 Titles

Post-Gazette Video Highlights
My Post-Gazette game story

The first game of Championship Friday at the Palumbo Center and by far the best, the game was not decided until a pair of
North Catholic free throws with 5.3 seconds left in the game. Each team had a senior duo that both recorded double doubles, that is
 pretty amazing.

Class AAA
Hampton Makes History
Hampton 84
Highlands 59

Highlands mounted a furious rally that gave me goosebumps listening through the radio, they cut a 22 point deficit to 11 points with 2 plus to play and they did it all with stand out Jeff Sinclair already fouled
out. A couple technicals here and there, the score is not an indication of the game which Highlands led at halftime. This is the first WPIAL boys' title in Hampton history.

"Looking up on the second level of the Palumbo Center, Hampton has brought one of the largest student sections I've seen in a while."

Class AA
A Long Day for Jeanette
North Catholic 51
Jeanette 44

What an atmosphere, one of the best games I have ever witnessed and one of the most enjoyable wins to see the Longs along with 6-4 black man Henry and a scrappy guard named Tyler, North Catholic ended a long wait for the boys program as it finally won a WPIAL title. Terrelle Pryor was in attendance and after the game the North Catholic student section unfurled an enormous banner that read Terrelle Cryor with a picture of him pounting after the Penn State loss.

Class A
Droney Gets Better of Two Man Show
Sewickley Academy 71
Serra Catholic 57

One of the great showdowns in WPIAL title game history with junior guard Tom Droney dropping 40 while Serra's T.J. Heatherington, playing without his brother for the first time this season because of a suspension, dropped 37.
