Today in oh the humanities we were assigned to groups and had to write a story with the only requirement being that it contained the words "If I only Knew"
A Boone County, West Virginia native starts it right off the bat with
"Hows bout, If I only knews she was my sister"
We later toned it down and made it cousins instead

Every groups story contained a reference to alcohol within the first two sentences of the story
Incredible

Who the hell writes fiction anyway?
Are there not enough real stories out in the entire world that we have to make them up?
And worse yet, who is actually reading these stories, knowing that they are fake and that all the characters have never lived or ever will

I just learned today that Sleeping Beauty is not a children fairytale at all
It has a much deeper meaning apparently
Sleeping Beauty pricking her finger is the equivalent of a young girl having her period for the first time
Hence the blood from her finger after the pricking
The kiss that awakens her, really awakens her to her adultlife

Every college waits for their opportunity to play the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday Night and have the game be televised across the country on ESPN
Tonight is West Virginias opportunity
They are 26 1/2 point underdogs
Last they year they gave the 'canes a run for their money, but that was at home and WVU still had a defense and Avon Cobourne
This year is different, the games in Miami, national television where the Hurricanes have been known to shine, and some guy named KayJay is running the ball instead of Avon.
These incredible odds they have to overcome remind me of a pregame speech delivered by coach corky before we went out to play perennial powerhouse St. Theresa in 8th grade
We were the dirty dozen, we had 12 kids, one out with a broke n collarbone, we played everydown of everygame everyweek the entire year
Our biggest kid was the size of their backup kicker
But nevertheless
Corky inspired us
"They put on their pants the same way we do
We came to far to roll over and give up
Now get out there and give em hell!"

Now I'm not saying the Mahntaneers can lose to Maryland by 28 and expect to have a chance against Miami
but that's why they play the game
And never say its impossible
I kindly refer you to my previous post where I returned a kick 109 yards with not even a second on the clock to come from behind and win
Granted that was Xbox , but the point still remains

Oh by the way, I did make it up for breakfast and for my 830, I slept through most of it but I made it to my first mid-term and did alright
