Morgantown Tradition
Its the week before a big game, the sweet 16 that is, and as expected Morgantown is buzzin like no other. It was only a matter of time til students got one of these letters from student affairs:
Dear Students,
Following Sunday's thrilling 67-54 victory over Northwestern State, most of you know the Mountaineers are headed to the NCAA Sweet 16 Tournament games Thursday through Saturday in Atlanta. Our opponent is the No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns - who WVU lost a one-point thriller to earlier this season. Coach Beilein and his team have not forgotten, and promise us an exciting rematch. Let's return that promise with one of our own by demonstrating great fan spirit and sportsmanship. You'll recall that last year's NCAA tournament victories were marred by the unlawful and destructive actions of a small number of fans - some of them students - which resulted in consequences ranging from probation to expulsion. In almost every case, these students told us they regretted their post-game behavior and would caution others not to jeopardize or ruin their college experience by participating in illegal or destructive behavior. So, as the Mountaineers get set to play in the Sweet 16 game - and hopefully beyond -- we owe it to this great group of players and coaches to support them the same way they play and coach --- with class. Please celebrate responsibly. Don't let the actions of a few steal the spotlight from the team. Let's Go Mountaineers! Ken GrayVice President for Student Affairs
Its only a matter of time now til the MPD comes around confiscating our porch furniture, Grant Street is on official lock down and the riot gear comes out.
I love this place, and its March. Let the madness ensue
