When the Florida Atlantic Owls became a football program in 2001 under Howard Schnellenberger (coached Miami to a national championship against Nebraska in the game that Osbourne went for 2) the Temple Owls figured they would no longer be the worst team in college football named the Owls.

6 years later and Schnellenberger has a Sunbelt title and a trip to the bowl game and the Owls have shitty helments and a losing record.

Storylines

*New Orleans was under water a few years ago and now they are hosting three bowl games, this being the first of the three (Sugar Bowl and BCS Championship)

*A Memphis player was murdered on campus before the Marshall game earlier this year

*Alot of points, neither team seems inclined to play defense

*Memphis has won five of six

*Yesterday in the city race riots broke out and public housing, I wonder if that will get any play in the announcers booth tonight
