High School football is in full gear, like I called for North Catholic pulled the upset last week and Gateway covered my imaginary point spread. npoc continues his assault on the books with another 2-0 night racking in FOUR MORE UNITS. This is a better start than the time I started the Jack Bauer Drinking Game with no beer.






But then again Walter Mondale had a good start in 1984 and he only won one state. The Pirates are knock knock knocking on hells door. They are a mere two losses away from tieing the record for MOST CONSECUTIVE LOSING SEASONS IN NORTH AMERICAN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS HISTORY.


This makes Barry Bonds assault on the homerun record look like a fat guy chasing a dog with a poofy tale. The Pirates used no performance enchancing (or I guess dehancing) drugs to break the record although the signing of trading for of Jeff Reboulet, Chris Stynes, Joe Randa (the second time), Derek Bell, Jeremy Burnitz, Andy LaRoche, Jose Hernandez, Benito Santiago, Ryan Voglesong, Raul Mondesi and Matt Morris could be argued for in this case.




Still they are a mere 18 pathetic innings of pathetic Pirate baseball away from tieing (sp?) THE MOST DUBIOUS RECORD IN ALL OF SPORTS. Unlike with Jose Hernandez you simply cannot bench a player so they avoid a certain number of strikeouts, the PIRATES WILL LOSE 82 games AS I GUUUUUARANNTEEEEEEEEED and they will lose them with as much fan fare as I can possibly generate for a non televised game going on across the country and ending well past midnight on the east coast.
