NCAA 2005
Season Roundup
West Virginia wins National Title in the Rose Bowl
Nest leads the Mountaineers to a 12-0 record and a 17-10 over Tennessee in the Rose Bowl
He finished the season atop of the AP Poll and Coaches Poll at #1 and garnerd all the first place votes in the coaches poll and all by 29 in the AP Poll
Fresno State also ended the season undefeated and received the rest
For his efforst he received Coach of the Year Honors and his ROLB Joe Sykes won the Heisman Trophy
He was perfect in Big East play and took home his second Big East Championship
After the season he turned down job offers at Oklahoma and Florida State to sign a six year contract extension with WVU
He showed total dominance in dismantling his soft schedule but rose to the occasion to stun #1 USC after being down by 14 and knocking off #6 Nebraska despite being down 17-0 at a point
Quite perhaps one of the greatest college football seasons of all time
There may never be another one like it

Nebraska Wins Big XII Title, Falls short in Fiesta Bowl
The cornhuskers, under npoc, finished the season at 9-3 and 7-1 in the Big XII
They won the Big XII North and defeated #2 Texas in the Big XII championship game
The first Big XII title won by npoc at Nebraska
Nebraska accepted a bid to play in the Fiesta Bowl verses Pac-10 champion Oregon State
With a chance to send the game into OT, Nebraska went for the win and ended up throwing an INT and losing the Fiesta Bowl
The hard work throughout the year did not go unnoticed by the school as they awarded him with a 2 year contract extention
An amazing job to salvage the season was done by npoc after an early season loss to Pitt, and he managed to keep morale up after a thumping from Oklahoma and letting a win against WVU slip away
Winning the Big XII title may be one of the greatest regular season accomplishments in all of college football

Ole Miss falls apart at the end of the year; Blows SEC and Outback
After mounting a 7-1 record, Ole Miss proceded to lose 4 of its final 6 games
Stopiak somehow managed to win the SEC East only to be demolished for the second year in a row in the SEC Championship game
His fourth consecutive loss came in the Outback Bowl against Michigan, it was quite the thrashing, 30-3
Ole Miss finished the season 9-5, and stopiak remains 0-4 in big games. He has lost both bowl games and both SEC Championship games
He somehow managed to get a job offer from both Notre Damn and Georgia
He stupidely accepted a four year extension with Ole Miss

Sammy was fired at Clemson after two years and a 5-6 season with no bowl bid
Amazingly UNLV hired her to coach the raging rebels

That is all for the second season of NCAA 2005
It has been an incredible ride and should be an interesting offseason
